The gaming regulators in Ukraine and Lithuania have signed a pact that will allow the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as sharing of information between the two agencies.
Knowledge Exchange and Information Sharing
Under the new agreement, the two agencies will collaborate on regulatory practice, market regulation practices, the application of legislation, enforcement, as well as gambling supervision. They will also share information regarding the prevention of problem gambling, curbing illegal online gambling operators, and putting in place technical requirements for gaming devices.
On top of that, the regulators will also be holding seminars and lectures as part of the new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Partnership Strengthened
The new MoU signed by the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority and the Gambling and Lotteries Regulation Commission of Ukraine, isn’t the first collaboration between the two regulators as they have already been working together since last year.
While some processes have encountered disruptions due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, they have decided to continue their partnership and not allow the armed conflict to get in the way.
Virginijus Dauksys, the director of the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority, said they’re happy to extend their collaboration with their Ukrainian counterpart and pledged that they will offer their support to their Ukrainian colleagues and help them despite the ongoing war in the country.
