The UFC just completed a very successful pay per view card on 20 August in Salt Lake City, Utah. UFC 278 saw an epic Main Event where welterweight champion Kamaru Usman dominated most of the 5 round fight against Brit Leon Edwards. Edwards surprised everyone in the final minute of the fight when he knocked out the champ via a head kick.
Edwards Will Defend Belt In The UK
Prior to the fight, Usman was on a 10 round win streak and had 5 successful title defenses. He was the betting favorite going into the fight, as he already had a victory over Edwards in 2015.
Usman did not waste any time after his loss to call for a rematch against the new champ and Edwards readily agreed for the third fight. UFC President Dana White has confirmed that they are looking to make Edwards vs. Usman 3 most likely at the start of 2023.
The UFC is currently looking to book the biggest stadium in the UK to host what is expected to be the biggest fight card in all of Europe. The UFC is looking at Wembley and might also look at the indoor Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales which can seat up to 75,000.
