Two of the most popular online casinos to serve the UK public are to cease operations, it was announced. Vera&John Casino and InterCasino, both owned by JPJ Group, will withdraw from the UK market within the first few days of September. They have already stopped signing on new players. In the meantime, existing players can continue depositing, betting and playing, although they will need to withdraw remaining funds by September 3rd.

Statements about the closures were published on both UK-facing websites.  InterCasino’s read: “As one of the oldest online casinos, InterCasino has a rich history of bringing premium content to its players. So, it is with a heavy heart that we must announce that as of Tuesday 3rd September, InterCasino will no longer be operating in the UK market, and access to your account will be blocked. We’d like to thank you all for your loyalty and wish you all the best for the future.” InterCasino is considered one of the oldest and most reputable online casinos in the industry.  It was founded by CryptoLogic in 1996. In 2014, together with Vera&John Casino, the brand was acquired by the former owner of Jackpotjoy, Intertain Group. JPJ Group, which is listed on the London stock exchange, said that it wants to focus its UK market presence on its flagship domain, Jackpotjoy.
