Score Media and Gaming (theScore) has entered into an agreement with Canadian recreation sports provider Canlan Sports that is due to begin this fall.
In terms of the agreement, cross promotion across each company’s respective digital platforms will be allowed as well as on-site branding for theScore’s properties that include its mobile sportsbook ‘theScore Bet’ via Canlan’s well-known network of Sports Complexes across Canada.
With online sports betting commencing in Ontario later this year, theScore Bet will accept sport-surface title sponsorship in all six of Canlan’s Ontario Sports Complexes.
Aubrey Levy, Senior Vice President, Marketing at theScore, commented that as they introduce theScore Bet brand to the Ontario market, they are looking to activate in creative and effectual ways to engage large, endemic audiences and create authentic connections to their brand.
Levy went on to say that as a homegrown Canadian company they know how ingrained recreational hockey is in Canada’s culture, and there is no bigger player than Canlan Sports in the recreational hockey space. He added that this deal allows them to effectively connect theScore Bet with a huge audience of adult sports fans as well as the culture and passion around recreational hockey.
Joey St-Aubin, President and Chief Executive Officer at Canlan Sports, said they support a safe, responsible and regulated sports betting market. He added that given theScore’s leadership position in digital sports media, they are very confident that Canadians will benefit from this rapidly evolving, cutting-edge industry.
St-Aubin also said that this collaboration allows them to continue building momentum for their digital transformation and enhancing the customer experience by introducing the Canlan Sports brand to wherever sports loving fans consume
