The popular Microgaming Mega Moolah progressive jackpot that made history in the online gambling world after paying out over EURO 6 million in May, 2009 to a player wagering at River Belle online casino, has since then only paid out winnings of between 2.5 million and 4 million credits.
The Mega Moolah progressive jackpot was previously networked to four Mega Moolah slot games, namely Mega Moolah, Mega Moolah Isis, Summertime and 5 Reel Drive. Microgaming’s branded slot game, The Lord of the Rings, was added to this network from the summer of 2011.
There has not been a big win on the Mega Moolah network since a player at Challenge Casino won EURO 3.8 million in October 2011. This win was followed by a jackpot hit of GBP 1.96 million on The Lord of the Rings by a lucky player at Platinum Play online casino during December, 2011 making it the first hit on this slot game on the Mega Moolah progressive network.
The Lord of the Rings was hit for a further 1.53 million credits three months ago and for 1.39 million credits a month ago. A couple of days ago The Lord of the Rings was also hit for 1.07 million credits although Microgaming has not yet revealed any details of these hits nor has it let it be known from which slot game or at which of its online casinos these hits took place.
It has been rumored that Microgaming intends removing The Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring from its portfolio as from May 31 although Microgaming has not confirmed nor denied this rumor.
