Leading Sports Data and Technology Company, Sportradar, has signed a contract with the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Pro League Committee (PLC), in terms of which the PLC will house Sportradar’s regional office and be appointed as the company’s regional partner for the Middle Eastern region.
Sportradar will contribute to the expansion of PLC’s fan base via social media, marketing initiatives and advanced media content. The company will also supply detailed data and statistics on players’ playing time and performances as well as complete match stats. In addition Sportradar will make verified official data on player performances available to coaching and scouting staff and also match information to media outlets.
Waleed Al Hosani, the PLC’s acting Chief Executive said, during a press briefing, that Sportradar will act as a strategic partner rather than simply a service provider.
Hosani went on to say that the agreement aims to develop the Arabian Gulf League system, especially in the area of data availability and engaging fans in the game. He added that this project is an important part of the 2017-2020 strategic plan launched by the PLC to develop smart technologies and maximize their adoption in organizing and managing PLC competitions.
The Director of Communications for Sportradar, Alex Inglot, said that today’s football fans demand insights that feed their passion, inform their debates and that are available to them wherever they may be.
Inglot also said that their trend-setting partnership kicks off a collaboration that will ensure that not only the fans, but also league partners, clubs and media, will have all the tools needed to analyze, understand and engage with some of the most exciting football played in the region.
