Germany’s leading handball league DKB Handball-Bundesliga has announced that it has entered into a new Integrity Services Partnership with Sportradar, a global leader in sports data intelligence.
In terms of the partnership that commences at the start of the 2019/20 season, Sportradar will monitor and analyze all DKB Handball Bundesliga matches as well as domestic cup competitions, including the REWE Final Four (German Domestic Cup) tournament in Hamburg as part of the DHB Cup and the Super Cup.
The league will also be provided with Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System (SDS), which is already in use by the European Handball Federation (EHF).
Frank Bohmann, Chief Executive Officer of DKB Handball-Bundesliga, commented on the partnership, saying that handball is constantly growing and becoming more and more important on both national and international levels.
Bohmann went on to say that due to outstanding significance, it is therefore a consequential and important step for the DKH Handball Bundesliga to take preventative and professional action in this area. He added that after having successfully cooperated with Sportradar already back in 2010, they will now be profiting from their optimized services.
Andreas Krannich, Managing Director of Sportradar Integrity Services, said that it is an honor and privilege to extend their relationship with the DKB Handball Bundesliga and help safeguard Germany’s leading handball competition from integrity issues and threats. He added that they look forward to monitoring the league’s various divisions and tournaments as well as working alongside stakeholders to educate them on how, why and where the dangers lie.
