Sportradar, a leading Sports Betting Technology Company is pleased to reveal that it has been awarded two new state gaming licenses which include a Sports Wagering Contractor License in Maryland and a temporary Gaming-Related Contractor Certificate in Wisconsin.

The licenses were granted after the states of Maryland and Wisconsin passed legislation independently of one another and gives customers of the company’s US betting subsidiary, Sportsradar Solutions, the opportunity to place wagers at select physical sportsbooks in those states.

Sportsbook legislation has been awarded at different rates across the US.  Individual states are currently in charge of how laws are formed surrounding sports betting.

Maryland commenced accepting legal wagers on 9ith December, while Wisconsin initiated legalized sports betting on 30th November, with the first group to be granted a license there being the Oneida Nation.

Maryland and Wisconsin are both aiming to continue expanding further into sports betting, with mobile and online platforms also included in the new legislation.  With the addition of the two states, Sportradar now holds 26 licenses across state and tribal levels in the United States.

Arne Rees, the Chief Executive Officer at Sportradar, commented that Sportradar is constantly looking for opportunities to expand offerings for its partners and customers and, from a betting standpoint that starts with securing state licenses in key states like Maryland and Wisconsin, which have multiple professional sports teams, as well as very passionate fan-bases.

Rees went on to say that these licenses further Sportradar’s leadership position in the US and allow them to grow these new markets with their best-in-class data, products and services, all backed by the highest levels of integrity.
