Red Rock Resorts has begun demolition work for its three Station Casinos properties in Southern Nevada – Fiesta Henderson, Texas Station, and Fiesta Rancho. The respective cities where the casinos are located have already granted permits for the full demolition of the establishments, records show.
The three casinos have not been operating since the pandemic hit in 2020. A fourth property will also be demolished as per a recent announcement from the company.
Four Casinos up for Demolition
Construction trailers, excavators, and other demolition equipment can now be seen at each of the sites in Henderson and North Las Vegas.
On September 2, Red Rock Resorts announced that it would also demolish a fourth casino – the Wild Wild West Casino – located near the intersection of Tropicana Boulevard and Interstate 15.
Bigger Goals
The decision to demolish the four casinos and have the land repositioned for sale is part of the company’s plan to double its portfolio by the end of 2030.
While it has let go of the four properties, Red Rock Resorts has acquired new sites earmarked for future development, including a parcel of land at Las Vegas Boulevard and Cactus Avenue, and another at Losee Avenue and 215 Beltway which will become home to a new casino resort. Its $750 million Durango Station is also under construction and is expected to be completed by 2023.
