Bidluck SA is pleased to announce that it has been granted a gaming license from Portuguese gambling regulator Servico de Regulacao Inspecao de Jogos (SRIJ) that will give it the opportunity to operate online slots in the country.  Bidluck SA will be able to operate these games and more via its Bidluck.pk site.

The license granted to Bidluck SA is the 23rd gaming license to be issued by the Portuguese gambling regulator in the jurisdiction, where land-based and online casino, lottery, poker, bingo and sports betting are regulated.  This latest license will be valid for a period of 3 years from the date of its signature, namely 22nd May 2020.

The iGaming market in Portugal saw its highest ever quarterly revenue in the first quarter of this year, with online operators bringing in a total of €69.8m, which is up 47 per cent year on year.

The nation’s parliament passed a bill in April 2020, in the midst of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, that called for ‘partial or total limitations on access to online gambling platforms’ although all the details of the restrictions were not set out at the time.

The Servico de Regulacao Inspecao de Jogus has granted a number of licenses this year that includes two licenses to Betway in February of this year.

In 2019, however, gaming data from the jurisdiction showed that unlicensed operators were continuing to thrive in Portugal, a full 3 years after the introduction of regulated online gaming
