Sportradar has brokered a deal that will see online gambling operator 22Bet become the first Official African Betting Partner of French Lique 1 football club Paris Saint-Germain.
The sponsorship agreement will be for a period of two years and will cover both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
In terms of the agreement, 22Bet will benefit from the placement of Digital Overlay technology at the Parc des Princes home studio – which uses geo-localized adverts on LED advertising boards around the pitch by adapting messages to the broadcaster’s audience.
In addition, 22Bet will gain access to VIP seats inside the stadium, as well as the ability to host events at the venue. The Online Sports Betting Company will also run a range of competitions, offering special prizes to customers and fans.
Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer at Paris Saint-German, said that they are delighted to welcome 22Bet to the Paris Saint-Germain family, as the club’s first ever Official African Betting Partner.
Armstrong also said that they believe that 22Bet will be an ideal partner for the club, and together they will be able to reach and further engage with their fast-growing fan base in Africa. He added that the partnership is testament to the club’s long-term commitment to Africa.
Hampus Lofkvist, Sportradar’s Director, Global Sponsorship Sales, added that this is a significant strategic move to tap into the popularity of PSG in Africa. He added that through one marquee partnership, the use of digital and virtual advertising technology, 22Bet will benefit from exposure and engagement opportunities with fans in some 30 plus countries.
