The online casino software provider, Yggdrasil, has announced the appointment of a new chief executive.
Bjorn Krantz will take over the role from Fredrik Elmqvist with immediate effect.
Elmqvist has been at the helm of Yggdrasil since helping found the company in 2013. He will now take “a more active board assignment”, according to Krantz.
Krantz is no stranger to the company, however. He has served as chief of global market operations and was also division head for publishing.
Krantz is also no stranger to the world of online gambling. He served for a decade in several top executive positions at the Swedish online casino games provider, NetEnt. In fact, between August 2011 and March 2012, he served as acting president and chief executive of the company.
“It’s with great humbleness I am taking over as CEO after Fredrik,” Krantz said. “I have enormous respect for the history, the company legacy and its awesome culture. It’s all about the people and building strong and winning teams, and it’s a great pleasure for me to have such talented and motivated people around me every single day.”
“We have a clear strategy, and together with the rest of the management team I look forward to delivering on our global growth ambitions, and to further strengthen our position as the leading igaming publisher and premium global igaming solutions provider.”
