Leading Swedish casino game developer NetEnt has announced that it filed an application with The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) on Wednesday, 19th September 2018, in an attempt to obtain a license that will see it provide its world-leading online casino games to local operators.
In October of last year the Pennsylvania state legislator approved a bill that legalizes online casino gambling and the supplier filed the application to The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) for a license that would enable it to deliver its award-winning library of table games and online slots games to their Pennsylvania casinos for their online casino operations.
Online betting is scheduled to be offered to players in Pennsylvania later this year or early next year.
Pennsylvania is the second largest state in the United States to regulate online casino and is the fifth largest state by population, with almost 13 million people. The state has a long tradition of gambling on the land based side and players generate a rather high gross game revenue per capita.
Erik Nyman, the Managing Director of NetEnt Americas LLC, commented on the application by saying that they are excited to continue their strategic expansion in the United States.
Nyman went on to say that they will launch with a mix of their table games, video slots, jackpot games and unique features such as free spins that have been greatly appreciated by their customers and their players. He also said that it is their ambition to be in Pennsylvania as soon as the market opens.
