Microgaming software group is continuing to spread the Christmas cheer this season by making a sizeable donation to the Isle of Man based charity, Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled via the Microgaming Health and Care Trust.

As part of the Riding for the Disabled Association, this registered charity enables riding activities for disabled people residing in the United Kingdom.  Microgaming offered the Isle of Man registered charity a donation of £6.000 in order to purchase a specially designed carriage for wheelchair users.

The Driving 4 Disabled activities will benefit approximately 30 adults and 15 children and thanks to Microgaming’s generosity, the numbers are expected to grow.  The charity is hoping to see the membership grow to 150 by the year 2017.

Martin Sewell, a volunteer fundraiser for Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled, commented on the new donation by saying that they are thrilled that the number of people wishing to participate in carriage driving is growing.  He added that it has quickly become apparent that they require a second modified carriage, which is wheelchair accessible, in order to meet the demand.

Sewell also said that he is thankful to the Microgaming Health & Care Trust for stepping in and supporting their program and that this donation will enable more disabled Manx residents to enjoy the pleasure and challenges of carriage driving which will see them gaining confidence and making new friends.

Paul Novellie, the Trustee of the Microgaming Health & Care Trust, added that Manx Carriage Driving 4 Disabled is a worthy charity that provides a unique service to the local community.  He added that their volunteer team work extremely hard to ensure all children and adults have an opportunity to drive a carriage.
