Microgaming, an Isle of Man based online gaming software supplier, will be adopting the proposed new German gambling regulations that are due to come into effect in July of next year.

The Casino Software Developer pledged to ensure that their operators will utilize their portfolio of games in the country and has committed to providing its customers with a solution designed to prepare them for the new regime.

It is Germany’s intention to provide an online slots licensing regime for commercial operators that includes a number of new methods adapted to promote social responsibility and minimize gambling-related harm.  Microgaming fully supports Germany’s approach.

Included in the new directives is an interval of five-seconds between reel spins, monthly deposit caps and a maximum stake limit.  All online gaming products must also be presented in the German language.

Germany’s new rules are scheduled to officially come into effect in July 202l, after which the applicable licenses can be issued.  Meanwhile, there will be a policy of transitional tolerance that will see operators engaging with the German market if they adopt the new regulatory measures.  Those ignoring the new regulations may be excluded from the future official licensing procedure.

Microgaming will launch a solution by 15th October that follows the German Toleration Regime that will give clients a chance to be technically ready to enter the German market ‘on-the-spot’.

Leon Thomas, Commercial Director at Microgaming, commented that as a socially responsible business, Microgaming broadly supports the regulatory changes in Germany, where they will be providing their customers with a solution that includes some of their most popular and successful titles – long before the new gambling laws coming into force next year.
