Isle of Man based Microgaming, has revealed that its Gift of Giving campaign has finished off its fourth year by donating an amount of £30,000, which was divided equally between hard working charities in four different regions.

Microgaming’s praiseworthy PlayItForward initiative started with the company’s idea to redirect funds that Microgaming would have spent on “end of year” gifts to customers to charitable organizations instead. Microgaming’s customers vote each year in order to find the charitable organizations that are most needy and the recipients in each region are those with the most votes selected by these customers.

The charities that received the highest number of customer votes for December 2016 were the Women’s Refuge (Isle of Man), Teenage Cancer Trust (UK and Europe), Save the Rhino (Africa) and Medecins Sans Frontieres (Rest of the World).

Thelma Lomax from Women’s Refuge revealed that the cost of running their charity is expensive and they are, therefore, absolutely over the moon to receive £7,500 from Microgaming.

The regional fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust, Sabina Ruta, said that they were so excited to receive the call from Claire at Microgaming that they had won the UK and Europe customer vote as part of the Give of Giving Campaign, adding that it is a fantastic start to the New Year.

Josephine Gibson, Partnership Development Manager at Save the Rhino, thanked everyone who voted for Save the Rhino International and Microgaming for making a generous donation of £7,500 to protect rhinos.

Steven Legg, Major Gifts Manager at MSF UK concluded that they are absolutely delighted to be given a gift of £7,500 from Microgaming.  He added that this support could not have come at a more crucial time for MSF as their Medical Staff are facing unprecedented challenges all over the world.
