Microgaming has revealed that it has donated an amount of £5,000 to the Diana Princess of Wales Care at Home Trust which is the only provider of “Hospice at Home” services on the Isle of Man.
The Manx-registered charity was established in 1998 and provides island residents who suffer from life-limiting illnesses, where curative treatment is no longer possible or appropriate. with respite and end-of-life care in their own home. Top quality nursing care and support is not only given to patients but also to their family and friends.
The Trust that relies solely on donations, offers patients in excess of 1,000 hours of free care each year.
Ron Spencer, the Chairman of Diana Princess of Wales Care at Home Trust, commented on the donation by saying that since the year 2012, the number of hours of care delivered by Hospice at Home has doubled to over 1,400 hours per year and that the donation from Microgaming will go a long way in helping patients in the wider community. Spencer added that the welcome funding will assist in securing provision of additional nursing care to help meet anticipated demand in 2016.
The Head of Microgaming PlayItForward, Claire Coleman, added that the Diana Princess of Wales Care at Home Trust is a one-of-a-kind Manx charity that provides crucial services to island residents. Coleman also said that last year Microgaming hosted a charity poker tournament in aid of the Trust, which raised over £5.000 and that having witnessed the charity’s commitment and hard work, naturally they were very keen to support them once again.
