Microgaming PlayItForward has made a donation of £12,680 in order to help a charity expand its gambling-related harm prevention program to the Isle of Man.
The Young Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) is an independent UK registered charity that focuses on raising awareness of gambling and gambling-related harm among young people through its accredited educational program.
The YGAM charity has held workshops across the UK as well as the Netherlands, Gibraltar and Malta.
The donation made by Microgaming PlayItForward will give YGAM a chance to bring its program to the Isle of Man, where the charity intends working with schools and the government in order to deliver its established Train the Trainer workshops.
The charity will aim its workshops at teachers, community volunteers and youth workers and focus on developing digital resilience among young people.
Microgaming will also be working together with the YGAM team to promote the delivery of bespoke attributed training around player protection.
The Head of Compliance at Microgaming, Kimberly Broad, commented that promoting responsible gaming and supporting their local community are extremely important to them, so they were naturally keen to support YGAM in extending its accredited program to the Isle of Man. She added that they have been very impressed with the charity’s success on building a program that focuses on increasing awareness and resilience against gambling-related harm and they look forward to supporting them delivering the vital training workshops in the island.
Lee Willows, Chief Executive at YGAM, said that Microgaming and YGAM have been keen to collaborate and this project provides a perfect opportunity to take their educational program to the Isle of Man, while at the same time work with Microgaming to deliver their accredited and authentic training.
