January 1st saw the launch of Sweden’s new regulated gambling market. Games by the Isle of Man based software group, Microgaming became available to Swedish players through multiple operators who are now licensed to offer its games. Operators such as Bet365, LeoVegas, Unibet, Global Gmaing, Coolbet, Betsson, Genesis and bwin all carry games by Microgaming on their platforms and Swedish online casino fans are reportedly thrilled.
They are now able to access titles such as Immortal Romance slot and branded content such as Game of Thrones slot, as well as games linked to Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network which has paid out over EUR 973 million to date. Many of the games have been tailored for the local online gambling market.
Commenting on these new developments in the Swedish gambling market was Microgaming’s chief operating officer, Andrew Clucas who said: Sweden is a significant market for Microgaming and we are thrilled to offer our operators in the region a fully integrated solution to ensure compliance in line with regulations set by the Swedish Gaming Authority.”
“This move continues our strategic expansion in key regulated markets, working closely with regulators and supporting operators as they grow their offering with our diverse portfolio of content built with player protection in mind.”
Microgaming supported all the operators during the license application process by providing all supporting documentation and information needed by the Swedish gambling regulator.
