Sportsbook specialist Kambi Group plc, a subsidiary of the Kindred Group, is pleased to announce that it has signed a multi-year deal in terms of which it will provide its sportsbook and technology services to South African based gambling giant Sun International.
Sun International is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest gaming companies with casinos, resorts and luxury hotel products across more than 25 destinations in 8 countries which include South Africa, Nigeria, Namibia, Chile, Zambia, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.
The agreement will also see the South Africa-facing online sportsbook brand SunBet.co.za, operated by Sun International, transitioning to Kambi’s end-to-end sports betting solution.
SunBet currently uses proprietary technology but will migrate to the Kambi sportsbook, supported by a Bede Gaming backend platform, before potentially taking the brand into further markets.
Kristian Nylen, the Chief Executive Officer of Kambi, commented on the new deal by saying that they are delighted to have signed a company of the caliber of Sun International and, in doing so, increasing their already substantial international footprint.
Nylen went on to say that Sun International is one of the largest and most respected gaming companies in South Africa and Latin America and they are excited by the potential this new partnership offers.
The Chief Executive Officer of Sun International, Anthony Leeming, commented that one of Sun International’s stated aims has been to increase the size of their online business and in Kambi they are confident that they have selected the right partner to help them achieve this goal.
