GVC Holding’s sports betting brand bwin, has revealed that it has entered into a deal that sees it become the first official private sports betting partner of the German Football Association (DFB), making it the DFB’s first private sports betting partner.
Included in the collaboration are advertising rights with the DFB and the German national teams from 2st January of this year to the end of 2022.
In terms of the partnership, bwin is also provided with advertising rights for the DFB Cup; the 3. Liga – the German third division and the Women’s Bundesliga with the rights running from 1st July 2019 for three seasons until the end of June 2022.
Stephan Heilmann, who is responsible for the activities of bwin in the German-speaking region, commented that they are greatly honored to be a DFB partner and look forward to greatly expanding their current partnership with this new agreement.
Heilmann went on to say that they look forward with great enthusiasm to the national team matches and the enthralling DFB Cup battles to come. He added that both offer an unparalleled environment for them to present the bwin brand and that championing responsible sports betting within this partnership will also be a crucial issue for them, and one they want to promote jointly with the DFB.
Denni Strich, the Managing Director at DFB, added that they are delighted to be extending their existing partnership with bwin to include extremely attractive sporting competitions. He also said that joining forces with their partner, they will also be focusing attention on integrity and preventing addiction.
