FUN88, an Asian-facing online casino and sports betting operator has announced that it has entered into a three-year agreement with EPL football club Newcastle United in terms of which it will be the next shirt sponsor for the football club.
The agreement will see FUN88’s logo featured across the Magpie’s famous black and white striped shirt with the brand being given access to advertise within St. James’ Park stadium at the football club’s home matches as well as across online and social media channels in the United Kingdom and internationally.
In terms of the agreement with Newcastle United, FUN88 undertook not to rename St. James’ Park so as not to cause a similar controversy as when the stadium was renamed the Sports Direct Arena in 2011.
FUN88 will be given an opportunity to build strong relationships with the “Toon Army” fans in Newcastle and globally by working together with Newcastle United.
In order to celebrate the signing of the new partnership, Newcastle United will be launching three social media channels in Asia, namely WeChat, Weibo and Dongqiudi in an endeavor to target the Premier League’s largest international fan-base in China with all the latest club news and exclusive content.
According to Lee Charnley, Managing Director at Newcastle United, it was important for them to find the right partner and in FUN88, they have a shirt sponsor that understands the club and brings significant benefits commercially.
Nathan Walker, Director at FUN88 added that it’s a very exciting time to partner with one of the most famous clubs in English football, Newcastle United.
