The European Casino Association (ECA) has announced plans to restructure the role of secretariat of the group. In the meantime, the ECA’s current secretary general, Philip Easthill, has stepped down from the job, effective immediately.

Easthill has been secretary general of ECA for the past three years. During that time, he tackled many important industry issues, including corporate social responsibility, money laundering and illegal gambling. He also focused on improving the reputation of licensed land casinos in Europe.

The chair of ECA, Per Jadlung, said that during the time that Easthill served as secretary general, he showed high levels of professionalism and brought the interests of ECA’s members and partners forward “with commitment and dedication. Jadlung said that Easthill managed to achieve the group’s goals and positioned the association as a key industry stakeholder.

According to the chair, Jadlung leaves the ECA in a strong position for future growth, as a result of his actions over the years.

“While he will be missed, we believe that he will be a true asset for the European Boating Industry,” said Jadlung. “We now look forward to advancing the good work and further defending and promoting the interests of our sector.”

The European Casino Association represents licensed land-based casinos across the Continent. It has around 30 members and more than 70,000 direct employees who support local economies in Europe. The ECA’s main objective is to promote and address issues that relate to casinos and their operations.
