Doug Polk’s debut on Bally’s Big Bet Poker LIVE at Tropicana in Las Vegas was a huge success, with the poker room owner winning over $600,000 on June 30. Polk’s rival Matt Berkey also joined in on the action and the night became witness to some trash-talking between both players as they clashed about the merits of their respective training sites.
Doug Polk Emerges as Big Winner
Polk never allowed the drama between him and Berkey to get in the way of him winning huge pots. Berkey, who founded Solve for Why, accused Polk and his training site Upswing Poker of employing non-legit coaches in creating courses.
Knowing Polk, he isn’t the type who backs down from a fight. He retaliated at Berkey by telling him how “dumb” he is and taking some of his money.
Yong, Antonius Big Losers
The night turned out to be productive for Polk as he scooped more than $600,000, which is an amazing result for his first game at the newest high-stakes poker stream in town. The same cannot be said for Rob Yong who ended up losing over $400,000.
Patrick Antonius, who was down $250,000 on June 29, attempted to recoup his losses on 30 June but was unsuccessful as he lost a further $55,000.
