A lucrative donation has been made by the Microgaming Health & Care Trust to Noble’s Hospital that will be used in order to establish a Laparoscopic Simulator Lab at their Medical Education and Clinical Skills Centre.

Noble’s Hospital Medical Education and Clinical Skills Centre is situate at Keyll Darree and is used for training doctors in a number of medical procedures that include the replication of skilled and emergency surgery.  The £930,000 center, which was supported by the Microgaming Health & Care Trust, opened in February of 2015.

Noble’s Hospital endeavored to extend the facilities that was available at the center, by proposing the installation of two laparoscopy simulator units as well as additional equipment designed for use with these units, in order to give trainee doctors the ability to develop a range of laparoscopic simulation lab.  The hospital approached the Microgaming Health & Care Trust for support in acquiring the equipment.

Microgaming’s donation of £7,500 will fund the purchase and installation of three laparoscopic simulator units as well as other equipment that is needed to support their functioning.

Mr. G D Tebala, Consultant Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Noble Hospital, revealed that since its opening, the Medical Education and Clinical Skills Centre has been a great benefit and has improved doctors’ skills in a variety of medical areas.  He went on to say that adding facilities for laparoscopic surgical training is integral for current doctors and their next generation and they thank the Microgaming Health & Care Trust for making this happen.
