It’s a huge honour for a poker player or a poker contributor to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame (PHoF). The 10 nominees for the 2023 PHoF was announced last week and once again the list is filled with a list of prominent names but only 2 of them will be inducted into the 2023 PHoF.
Negreanu Suggests Changes To Induction Process
Daniel Negreanu who is a member of the PHoF has called for the PHoF to make changes to its induction process. The PHoF currently nominates a list of poker pros and poker contributors based on set criteria.
Negreanu says the PHoF needs to focus on comparing apples with apples and not mix things up by putting together players and contributors. His suggestion is that every 2 years, the PHoF should only focus on nominating players and in the third year, they should nominate 3 inductees with one of them being a contributor.
Negreanu says with the current process, it will take way too long for top players like Brian Rast, Ted Forrest and Ray Dehkharghani to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.
