The Columbus Crew, an American professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio has entered into an exclusive sponsorship deal with Tipico Sportsbook giving the latter access to operate in Ohio when the state opens to sports betting.

In terms of the deal, Tipico becomes a founding level partner of Columbus Crew giving it title sponsorship of a club and beer garden as well as brand integration throughout the Major League Soccer club’s Lower.com Field and digital content for fans, bookmakers and joint community programming.

The new deal also allows Tipico access to one of 25 online licenses to operate in Ohio with State Legislators giving each of the state’s seven pro teams and the hosts of PGA Tour and NASCAR events control of at least one of those licenses.

David Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer of Haslam Sports Group, which owns the Crew, commented that they are thrilled to announce their partnership with a highly respected global brand and passionate soccer enthusiast in Tipico.

He also said that as they make their foray into Ohio, their long-term agreement with Tipico represents an exciting development for Crew supporters and sports fans in Central Ohio and throughout the state.

Jenkins went on to say that providing a world-class experience for supporters is at the core of what they do and so they look forward to increasing fan engagement opportunities in Columbus and throughout Ohio through this partnership.

It is expected that Ohio will go live with online and mobile sports betting prior to 1st January 2023, after Governor Mike DeWine set that date as a deadline to launch.

American online gaming company BetMGM is pleased to announce that it has been granted approval to commence offering online sportsbetting services in New York as from Monday, 17th January 2022, making it the fifth online New York sports betting operator.

The launch will begin with bets being hosted through a BetMGM website and through a mobile app, providing wagers on events around the globe.  The app, which is already live in several states, including Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, Colorado and others, will be tied to MGM Grand’s M Life Rewards program and will enable players to accrue and redeem points.

The launch will see BetMGM being live for NFL betting online on the final game of Wild Card Weekend when the Arizona Cardinals plays the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night.

Adam Greenblatt, the Chief Executive Officer at BetMGM commented that with today’s monumental news, they will now be able to fully activate their relationships with MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino and Madison Square Garden.

He also said that they look forward to offering customers in New York unique experiences that they cannot access on any other platform.

BetMGM will be offering a number of promotions at the launch which include the following –

  • Risk-free first bet up to $1,000
  • Bet $10, win $200 on the NFL Wild Card Round
  • Wager $10, get $200 on the NHL’s Rangers
  • Bet $10, get $200 on the NBA’s Knicks

The other four NY sportsbook apps that are already live are BetRivers, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook.

Michigan State University’s (MSU) Athletics, MSU Sports Properties and Caesars Entertainment Inc. have entered into a multi-year partnership that will see Caesars Sportsbook named as the Official and Exclusive Sports Betting Partner and iGaming Partner of MSU Athletics. 

In terms of the deal Caesars will acquire considerable exposure by gaining access to MSU sports assets that includes fan engagement opportunities, TV signage during basketball games, appearances in broadcast and digital content as well as naming rights to a ‘premium seating area’ in the MSU American football team’s Spartan Stadium set to debut during the 2022 football season and an increase in responsible sports gaming education.

Several MSU-related hospitality assets and VIP experiences will be available to Caesars Sportsbook players as part of the vast selection of benefits offered through the industry-leading loyalty program, Caesars Rewards.

Included in the assets are digital content across MSU athletics, TV-visible signage across basketball, hockey and football together with an outdoor tailgating area and access to special alumni and fan engagement opportunities surrounding varsity sports seasons currently underway.

Flutter Entertainment-owned FanDuel Group has revealed that it has extended its content and marketing partnership deal with golf’s PGA Tour for a further period of three years.

In terms of the renewed deal FanDuel will remain as an official betting operator of the PGA Tour through to 2024,  The two parties have been working together ever since September 2020.

Other than continuing its current marketing and content partnership with the golf competition, FanDuel will also contribute odds-based content to fans solely on the PGA Tour’s social media channels -Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

FanDuel will also be given the rights in the US to make use of PGA Tour marks and also to advertise within Tour media and partner platforms.

Norb Gambuzza, Senior Vice President Media and Gaming of the PGA Tour, commented on the partnership extension by saying that FanDuel is a market leader in the United States and they look forward to extending their relationship in the sports betting space for three more years.

Gambuzza also noted the ‘incredible growth’ FanDuel has witnessed in its golf offering and the success of the operator’s partnership with American golf pro Jordan Spieth.  He also believes that integrating betting odds into the Tour’s social content helps contribute to storylines and provide up-to-date information to fans.
