Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) entered into a budding transformational deal last month when it agreed to acquire Sportnco for an amount of €50.8m.

Richard Brown, Chief Executive Officer at GIG pointed out that the supplier has doubled its addressable market in one fell scoop that will see the group returning to the sports betting vertical with a bang this year thanks to the acquisition of the B2B sportsbook and platform provider.

The deal that sees the supplier’s footprint expand considerably across 55 clients in 25 markets involved an initial €50.8m in cash and stock.

Sportnco has a strong presence in France and  has also struck deals in Spain and Greece and established a presence in Latin America.  Clients range from notable online names such as NetBet and Betway to land-based operators moving online such as Casino Atlantic City, Olimpo and Casino Gran Madrid.

In November, Richard Brown the Chief Executive Officer of GIG, commented on the importance of building for the future and the value of taking a strategic position in an early-stage market before it becomes a growth territory.

He also said that the deal has been long time coming and was flagged by Oakvale Capital – which last year alone played a key role in transactions involving Scientific Games, Superbet, Evolution and Super Group among others.

Brown went on to say that he was attracted by the product in terms of the quality, client base and number of markets, which are highly regulated, growth markets, driven by digitalization.  He added that they have prioritized regulated markets, and to see them verified in a similar, but almost completely complementary number, was something that really attracted him.

PointsBet, an Australia-based betting business is pleased to  announce that it has entered into a partnership agreement with Penn National Gaming that will see it having an opportunity to offer online sports betting and online casino products in Pennsylvania.

The agreement enabled PointsBet’s wholly-owned subsidiary, PointsBet Pennsylvania to be awarded sports wagering and interactive gaming operator licenses in Pennsylvania by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Johnny Aitken, the Chief Executive Official of PointsBet USA, commented that they are extremely excited to be inching closer to officially offering PointsBet’s market-leading products to sports fans and bettors in Pennsylvania in partnership with Penn National Gaming.

He went on to say that with Pennsylvania ranking among the top five sports betting states in the nation, PointsBet is thrilled to be able to soon establish its presence in this lucrative market, and they are appreciative of the support they have received from the state of Pennsylvania and the great people at the Gaming Control Board.

Aitken also said that they ultimately seek to provide customers in Pennsylvania with the best-in-class sports betting and online casino experience.

PointsBet is also in its third year of being the official sports betting partner of the Comcast-owned media group NBC Sports.  According to the operator this deal will be especially significant to its being successful in Pennsylvania.

PointsBet entered into a partnership with the National Football League (NFL) last summer and also added Eric Lee as Vice President of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) earlier this month.

Affiliate business Gambling.com Group is pleased to announce that it has entered into a sports betting partnership with US news media organization The McClatchy Company.

In terms of the new deal, McClatchy will have the opportunity to gain access to Gambling.com Group’s proprietary data science platform, sports betting content team as well as proficiency in how to monetize online sports betting traffic.

Gambling.com Group will assist McClatchy in drawing on its audience in order to reach and supply content to capture and monetize high-intent traffic.

With 29 markets across the US, McClatchy counts newspaper titles like Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Miami Herald, Charlotte Observer, Kansas City Star, Lexington Herald-Leader, News and Observer and Sacramento Bee among its publications.

Caesars Entertainment has revealed that it has entered into a multi-year partnership that will see Caesars Sportsbook being made an Official Mobile Sports Betting Partner of the Buffalo Bills.

In terms of the partnership Caesars Sportsbook will enjoy considerable sponsorship assets, and will be provided with naming rights to a new sportsbook-style premium club lounge at Highmark Stadium.

Caesars Sportsbook will also gain access to the use of official Buffalo Bills logos and marks in addition to a vast range of VIP experiences and hospitality assets to make available for Caesars Sportsbook bettors through the Caesars Sportsbook app’s integration with the loyalty program, Caesars Rewards.

Betsson Group has entered into a one-year sponsorship agreement with Colo-Colo, one of Chile’s top football teams.

Regarded as the most successful club in Chilean football, Colo Colo has won 32 titles in the Chilean First Division as well as being the only team to have never been relegated.

The global sponsorship agreement between the parties will cover the 2022 season with the possibility of renewal and comes as part of Betsson’s operative sponsorships in Latin America.

In terms of the sponsorship agreement Colo-Colo’s team jersey will show the Betsson’s logo on the sleeve, respecting the historical colors of the club and adapting to black and white in its home and away version.

Last year, Betsson was named as the official regional sponsor of Conmebol Copa America, the naming sponsor of Peru’s Liga 1.  The operator also struck a digital partnership with betting group La Roja which saw it covering its FIFA 2022 World Cup Campaign. 

Andrea Rossi, Commercial Director for South America at Betsson, commented that in their drive of expanding in the region, they are also partnering up with local football clubs which they can support and grow.

Rossi also said that besides allowing them to further strengthen their brand awareness in the region, it also gives back to the clubs, allowing them to invest more in their players, staff and facilities and making the sport they all love – football – more electrifying.
