Cricket fans expected the T20 series between India and the West Indies to be a closely contested affair but things did not turn out that way as India has dominated the Calypso kings in the first three games of the five match series.
India have already won the series and will use the remaining two T20 games which will be played in Florida, USA as preparation games before the ICC T20 World Cup which starts later this year.
India Will Experiment With Younger Players
The West Indies will definitely want to bounce back and see if they can salvage some pride and finish the series on a 2-3 score. They will have a good chance to do so as India will look to rest some of their senior players and experiment with some of their younger players.
India is looking to finalize their squad for the T20 World Cup and also work out which is their best playing XI. This is a great opportunity for the likes of S Iyer, Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh to make their mark and push for a place in the T20 World Cup squad.
India and England went into the third and final ODI with the series tied at 1-1 and both sides needing a win to clinch the ODI series. England as the hosts were under a little more pressure after losing the T20 series to India.
England Get To A Decent Score
England batted first and got off to a shaky start before their middle-order dug in and put together some useful partnerships in the middle that helped take them to a respectable score of 259. Their main run-scorers was their captain J Butler (60) and M Ali 34 while the main wicket taker for India was all-rounder H Pandya who took 4.
R Pant and H Pandya Help India Win
India also got off to a shaky start with captain R Sharma and V Kohli losing their wickets just as they were getting settled. R Pant remained unbeaten on 125 while H Pandya blasted 71 out of 55 balls to help India win by 5 wickets.
R Pant won the player of the match award while H Pandya won the man of the series award. India will be pleased with their tour of England as after losing the one-off test, they ended up winning the T20 and ODI series.
Amanda Nunes is regarded by most Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fans as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in women’s MMA. Nunes who was a two division champion suffered a shock defeat at UFC 269 in Dec 2021 when she lost to Julianna Pena.
Nunes Confident Of Reclaiming Her Title
Nunes gets a chance to revenge her loss to Pena at UFC 277 which takes place on July 30 in Dallas, Texas. The Lioness claimed she wasn’t fully fit to compete at UFC 277 and that hindered her performance against Pena who ended up submitting her. Nunes has changed camps since her loss to Pena and believes that she will prove that is the GOAT of the bantamweight division on July 30.
Pena has stayed rather calm in the lead-up to this rematch, unlike the first fight. She says that she will feel like a true champ only when she has defended the belt and silenced Nunes again.
Some of the other great fights on this card include an interim fight in the flyweight division between Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France, as well as a heavyweight clash between fan favorite Derrick Lewis and Sergei Pavlovich.
When big businesses look to complete mergers & acquisitions, it usually tends to stay under wraps until both parties have agreed to release a statement. The Conseil de la Concurrence in Morocco recently made public a potential offer from Porsche to acquire the F1 operations of Red Bull.
Red Bull To Sell 50 Percent Of F1 Business
Porsche has yet to make any formal announcement regarding its intention to enter the Formula One market. The news does not come as a major surprise though because Herbert Diess, the ex-CEO of the VW Group did indicate in May 2022 that Audi and Porsche were considering entering the F1 market.
The acquisition of 50 percent of Red Bull’s F1 business will have to go through a lot of red tape. Red Bull’s F1 business is based out of Milton Keynes in the UK while Porsche is based out of Germany. The two companies will have to file applications in 20 European Union jurisdictions and get regulatory approval.
Morocco is one of the countries where both companies need approval and based on the laws of Morocco they had to release details of the acquisition publically once the application was given approval.
So far there is no more information regarding the terms and conditions of the proposed acquisition.
