Ethan “Rampage” Yau recently exposed an alleged “scammer” on Twitter after failing to pay him a six-figure debt. The World Poker Tour (WPT) ambassador claimed that Dustin Aab, who is known as an Instagram “influencer”, owes him well over $450,000 which has not been repaid since January.

Scammer Alert

Yau revealed that Aab took a personal loan from him in January after he won a $25,000 high roller event at Wynn Las Vegas in December. The agreement was that Aab would pay the loan in monthly installments but that did not happen.

Yau warned his followers and fellow players not to trust the guy especially as he presents himself on social media as a business consultant who helps people build seven-figure companies.

Poker Community Reacts

Many members of the poker community sympathized with Yau after what happened, but others also criticized him for trusting his money to Aab despite all the red flags.

Aab goes by the name “dustindacloser” on Instagram and claims to be an angel investor. He runs a consulting business that promises to help people grow their money, with services like credit repair, Amazon automation, and sales training. These types of services are commonly offered by scammers posing as marketing experts.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) recently honored Doyle Brunson in a commemorative event called “Celebration of Life”. The memorial, which took place at the Jubilee Theater at Horseshoe Las Vegas, was attended by numerous high-profile poker figures, some of whom are Poker Hall of Famers.

Tributes Pour in for Doyle Brunson

Gaming executive and three-time WSOP bracelet winner Lyle Berman, one of Brunson’s closest comrades, shared that their friendship lasted 46 long years during which he has spent more waking hours with Brunson than with his two ex-wives combined.

Daniel Negreanu’s tribute focused on Brunson’s well-established poker career that spanned more than five decades. How long you can stay in the game is the ultimate measure of poker success, according to the GGPoker ambassador, and no one will ever compare to the Godfather of Poker in this aspect!

For Phil Hellmuth, Brunson was an “oasis” who dominated the high-stakes room at the Bellagio since it opened. He remembered Brunson’s amazing sense of humor that made everybody want to be with him.

Brunson’s son Todd Brunson, who is a WSOP bracelet winner himself, thanked everyone in attendance, saying that his father treated the poker world as his second family.

October 2 is Doyle Brunson Day

That won’t be the last event celebrating Brunson’s life and legacy, with PokerStars also hosting a similar event in October. Additionally, the poker community agreed to recognize October 2 as Doyle Brunson Day in honor of the two consecutive Main Events he won with a ten-deuce hand.

Doug Polk’s debut on Bally’s Big Bet Poker LIVE at Tropicana in Las Vegas was a huge success, with the poker room owner winning over $600,000 on June 30. Polk’s rival Matt Berkey also joined in on the action and the night became witness to some trash-talking between both players as they clashed about the merits of their respective training sites.

Doug Polk Emerges as Big Winner

Polk never allowed the drama between him and Berkey to get in the way of him winning huge pots. Berkey, who founded Solve for Why, accused Polk and his training site Upswing Poker of employing non-legit coaches in creating courses.

Knowing Polk, he isn’t the type who backs down from a fight. He retaliated at Berkey by telling him how “dumb” he is and taking some of his money.

Yong, Antonius Big Losers

The night turned out to be productive for Polk as he scooped more than $600,000, which is an amazing result for his first game at the newest high-stakes poker stream in town. The same cannot be said for Rob Yong who ended up losing over $400,000.

Patrick Antonius, who was down $250,000 on June 29, attempted to recoup his losses on 30 June but was unsuccessful as he lost a further $55,000.
