Leading European sports betting operator, bwin has revealed that it has entered into a a four-year deal with one of Germany’s most prestigious football clubs, Borussia Dortmund, in terms of which it will serve as a “champion partner” of the club for the next four Bundesliga seasons – from 2017-18 to 2010-21.
The agreement will see bwin benefit from branding placement in-stadia on large scale LED perimeter banners as well as on pitch “CamCarpets” during Dortmund’s seventeen home Bundesliga features each season and also feature on the eight-time German champions’ interview boards.
Dortmund are currently sponsored by North Rhine-Westphalia industrial corporation Evonik and the football club has confirmed its agreement with bwin via a statement on their official website. Bwin will also make a major contribution to match day experiences by providing BVB fans with the latest odds and match information online and via mobile apps.
Steven Heilmann, Regional Head at bwin, commented that while “True love” is BVB’s brand promise, “True love” binds them at bwin to football just as much as the Borussians and their fans. He also said that they are aiming to intensively involve the BVB fans in activating their sponsoring role and already have a number of exciting ideas that they will soon be able to experience inside and outside the stadium.
Carsten Cramer, Director of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Borussia Dortmund added that with bwin, they have a partner that has maintained close ties with German football longer than any other operator in its sector.
Cramer went on to say that BVB and bwin are combining two brands that are both major players in their own field.
