Leading international internet betting brand Bodog is pleased to announce that they have entered into a deal in terms of which it will become the Master Sponsor of the Copa do Brasil knockout soccer tournament.
The company revealed that it had paid a seven-figure consideration for the deal that will see Bodog having signage and marketing rights.
Bodog’s Ed Pownall commented on the sponsorship by saying that there is no doubt that the Brazilian market is the “next big thing” in their industry and they wanted to launch their brand into the region with a really big splash and quickly identified the Copa do Brasil as the perfect vehicle.
Pownall went on to say that Copa do Brasil is the most significant club competition in the region and is similar to the English FA Cup in the UK.
The Copa do Brasil is a knockout football competition that is played by 86 teams that represent all twenty-six Brazilian states including the Federal District.
Sergio Campos, a Partner and Director of Klefer Sports Marketing also commented by saying that becoming a Master Sponsor of Copa Continental do Brazil opens up Bodog to a huge and relevant audience in the region. He added that they are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a creative and daring brand like Bodog.
Bodog already has a long history of major sponsorships in Europe with English Premier League clubs such as Arsenal Football Club and West Bromwich Albion. However, this is the betting brand’s first Brazilian soccer based marketing venture.
