Leading online gaming operator Betway, has entered into a deal with Matchroom Sport in terms of which it will become the new title sponsor of the 2017 British Basketball All-Stars Championship.
The tournament that will be held this year for the first time will take place at London’s 02 Arena on Sunday, 24th September 2017 and will showcase the best of British basketball talent, with eight of the UK’s top sides competing over a total of 13 matches.
The fast-paced basketball tournament will feature a prize fund of £100,000, including an amount of £20,000 for the eventual champions and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports and distributed to over 70 countries around the globe.
Anthony Werkman, the Director of Marketing and Operations at Betway, commented on the new sponsorship by saying that it is great to be involved with this innovative and exciting spin on a well-established sport. He added that at Betway they like to be at the forefront of new ideas and strongly believe that the All-Stars Championship will deliver a thrilling experience to basketball fans and Betway customers at the 02 Arena.
Werkman went on to say that they are also pleased to be working with Matchroom Sport on another event as they have worked on a number of successful sponsorships together.
Matchroom Sport Chairman, Barry Hearn added that they are thrilled to be once again working with their good friends at Betway. He added that they have enjoyed a close relationship centered on many of their sports including snooker, darts, pool, boxing and now basketball.
