BetVictor, a leading independent bookmaker, has revealed that it has made changes to its free-to-play weekly Golden Goal competition and has promised to give away an amount of £1 million in the promotion during the 2017-18 Premier League.

The new format requires punters that take part in the free-to-play weekly contest, not only to predict both the time of the first goal and goalscorer in a selected game, but also the correct score.

The opening weekend’s prize pool will be £50,000 (€55,300/$65,300) with the amount rolling over and increasing each week by £25,000 in the event of there being no winner.

The prize pool will revert to £25,000 each week once the Golden Goal is won and should more than one customer win in any given week, they will share the total prize that is on offer for that weekend.

A free bet of £5 will be awarded to punters who correctly predict the minute and scorer of the first goal but fail to predict the correct score, while all BetVictor account-holders will be given one free prediction each week and will also receive up to two additional predictions by placing real-money bets on any BetVictor product.

The Head of Sportsbook Product at BetVictor, Eoin Ryan, commented that by adding “Correct Score – 90 min” into the prediction mechanic, they will produce bigger winning dividends and more rollovers and excitement.

Ryal added that once the goalscorer and goal minute are confirmed, they will publish live information about the remaining predictions in contention via social media and are certain that customers will enjoy this additional level of excitement.

The Golden Goal competition will run for the first time during the match between Manchester United and West Ham United on Sunday, 13th August, 2017.
