Championship Hockey League

Bettson has announced that it has become the new Official Sponsor of Championship Hockey League (CHL), and has thus become the exclusive betting partner of the league.

Last week Betsson revealed that it was also the main sponsor of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). This new agreement with CHL therefore seals Bettson’s commitment to European hockey and sees it being the leading hockey betting operator in Europe.

Betsson is one of the top gaming companies in the Nordics, having roots all the way back to 1963 with a strong presence on the Nordic hockey market. The agreement will not only see the Betsson brand having digital and physical exposure, but also includes the ability to create exclusive content around the games. In addition to the financial support for the league, the aim of the sponsorship is to build bridges between the Swedish and international hockey leagues.

Peter Zall, the Chief Strategy Officer at Betsson, commented that they are already the main sponsors of SHL and are now deepening their commitment to ice hockey further. He added that to see the Swedish and Finnish top teams facing competition from some of the other European teams is exciting and good for hockey.

Zall went on to say that it is also exciting for them and further proof to a goal of being hockey’s top betting operator in Europe.

The Champions Hockey League is fully owned and operated by Champions Hockey League AG/Ltd. Amongst its shareholders are 26 founding clubs, six national founding leagues and the International Ice Hockey Federation.
