Betsson, a Swedish company that offers a number of online gambling products, is pleased to reveal that it has been granted licenses for online gaming and betting in Greece by the Hellenic Gaming Commission that will see it launching its flagship brand of the same name in the coming weeks.
Having received two of the new Hellenic Gaming Commission licenses enabling the company to operate in Greece, one being for games of chance (casino, slots and poker) and another one for betting (sportsbook), both of which are valid for an initial period of seven years, Betsson.gr will now have the opportunity to offer players sports betting, casino, live casino and virtual sports.
Betsson Greece will be launched with a product offering that has been specifically developed with the Greek players in mind, such as the Betsson 500k where players are required to pick the correct outcome on twenty different events while having the chance of lucrative wins. Betsson+ gives players an opportunity to create their own bet on the football player that they choose in all big events this summer.
Pontus Lindwall, the President and Chief Executive Officer for Betsson, commented on being granted the licenses by saying that they are really pleased to receive these licenses and to welcome Greece at Betsson’s 18th locally regulated market.
Lindwall went on to say that as in other markets, their vision for Greece is to offer the best customer experience possible and they have partnered with some great gaming suppliers and payment providers to augment their offering. He also said that the Greek gaming market has experienced significant growth over the past years, and they see a lot of potential.
