Swedish betting operator Bethard has announced that they have expanded into another territory and become a leading player in Europe by entering the Danish market after successfully applying for a gaming license in Denmark.
Bethard is already licensed in the United Kingdom and Malta and filed a license application in Sweden ahead of re-regulation coming into force in the country on 1st January 2019 while a state license in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein is also in the horizon.
Bethard revealed that it is actively seeking licenses in a number of other markets and expects to have a licensed presence in most major European markets by 2020.
Erik Skarp, Chief Executive Officer at Bethard, commented that it will start welcoming Danish players to its website “within weeks”. He added that they are very satisfied to get a green light in Denmark and they look forward to start growing their presence in the Danish market.
Former Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic was unveiled in an ambassadorial and development role at Bethard in March of this year. The Swede has a contract to play at North American Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy until the end of the 2019 season.
Skarp went on to say that it is a truly exciting year for them, one in which they are determined to lay a solid foundation for establishing Bethard as Europe’s leading sports betting brand, and they have had a good start. He also said that there was the announcement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic joining their team, followed by a very successful start in the UK market and a great World Cup and now the time has come to conquer Denmark.
