Britain’s leading online and retail bookmaking group Betfred is thrilled to reveal that it has signed an agreement with England’s Rugby Football League in terms of which it will become the new title sponsor of the Championship and League 1 club competitions.
The bookmaker is already the sponsor of the top-tier Super League and after enjoying a dynamic first year in the sport, they have made the decision to increase their involvement in the game by becoming the title partner of the top three tiers of the sport.
The new agreement will see Betfred introduce its branding to the second and third tiers for the following two years until the end of the 2019 season, when the Super League sponsorship is also due to end.
The deal entered into between the parties will include brand exposure on in-stadium perimeter signage at all Championship and League 1 matches as well as support for the annual “Summer Bash” event in Blackpool in May and considerable coverage from televised matches that are shown on SkyTV.
Ralph Rimmer, the Chief Executive of the Rugby Football League, commented by saying that Betfred’s first year involved in the Super League was an unquestionable success and he is certain that they will bring the passion and enthusiasm to their extended sponsorship.
Rimmer went on to say that the Betfred Championship is now one of the most geographically diverse competitions in the world including teams from Toulouse, Toronto and London and that with this new deal, he is certain that both competitions will go from strength to strength.
