The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced Dream11, the largest fantasy sports (DFS) operator in India, as the official partner of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL).
The four-year exclusive partnership between The Board of Control for Cricket in India and Dream11 commenced with the upcoming IPL 2019 season (23rd March 2019).
In terms of the partnership, Dream11’s brand will also be integrated at a number of points across IPL matches and will see the operator power the Indian Premier League’s Fantasy gaming league.
Harsh Jain, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dream11, commented on the deal by saying that Dream11 is deeply integrating with the IPL, which is set to grow from its 1.4 billion TV impressions and 200 million online viewers in 2018, to achieve their goal of growing from 51 million users to 100 million users in 2019.
The Committee of Administrators (CoA) of BCCI also commented on the partnership saying that the online viewership of IPL is growing each year and it is essential for them to engage with the fans on digital platforms as well. The Committee also said that partnering with the biggest fantasy sports platform in India, Dream11 will help them in further increasing the popularity of the IPL amongst cricket fans.
Dream11 was founded in the year 2008 and is the Fantasy Game partner of International Council of Cricket (ICC), VIVO Pro Kabaddi League, Hero India Super League (ISL), National Basketball Association (NBA), Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL), International Hockey Federation (FIH) and Big Bash League (BB).
