Bally’s Corporation, a leading U.S. omni-channel provider of land-based gaming and interactive entertainment, is thrilled to announce that it has entered into a multi-year agreement that will see it become the Authorized Gaming Operator of Major League Baseball (MLB).
The deal signed by the parties is Bally’s third Sports Betting agreement with a professional sports league and follows agreements with the National Hockey League and the National Basketball Association.
In terms of the agreement, Bally will gain immediate access to official MLB league and team marks, data and logos, which it will incorporate across its expanding portfolio of sports wagering products.
The agreement between Rhode-based Bally’s and MLB was announced just ahead of the start of the 2021 baseball season with Opening Day arriving in April and all 30 teams due to be in action. The financial terms of the new deal have not been disclosed.
Bally has also announced that it was issued a temporary sports wagering permit that enables the Gaming Company to operate sports wagering in Virginia.
According to the Company, the announcement also marks Bally’s entry into the attractive Virginia gaming market, expanding its national presence into 13 states once all pending acquisitions are completed, including Delaware, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, Indiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The announcements regarding the MLB and Virginia news expand a now-lengthy run of acquisitions and new partnerships by Bally’s to advance into arenas beyond traditional casino operation, including Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) and sports wagering.
