On 17th September 2020 it was revealed that the Malta Gaming Authority has cancelled Knockout Gaming Limited’s Maltese B2C gaming license after it was found that the operator had breached two rules of the countries regulations that are relevant to online betting.
The Malta Gaming Authority has ordered Knockout Gaming Limited to immediately cease all of its gaming operations in Malta and has also ordered the operator to no longer accept new customers or player deposits.
According to the Malta Gaming Authority, it found that Knockout Gaming Limited have breached regulation 51(l) of the country’s Authorizations and Compliance Directive and has also failed to pay its agreed compliance contribution fee of an amount of €20,044.35 (£18,226.65 / $23,641.00) for the period from June to November of last year.
Knockout Gaming Limited is licensed to offer fixed-odds betting and casino gaming and operates four sites – Knockout Casino.com, Spinomaniac, Rush777 and Welivebets – under these licenses. The operator also has a gaming platform wherein it distributes games.
In terms of the suspension, Knockout Gaming Limited is not permitted to accept any new customers to their sites but must, however, allow existing customers to gain access to its platforms in order to pull out their funds and must also refund any money that is currently in its customers’ accounts.
Knockout Gaming may be permitted to appeal the decision of the Malta Gaming Authority, and there is a good chance that the operator’s license could be reinstated after all the violations are rectified.
