London-based International Game Technology (IGT) has announced that it has entered into a multi-year B2B betting partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The deal signed by the parties will see IGT being the US’s first B2B sports betting platform provider to offer regional casinos and sportsbooks the chance to gain access to the NBA’s intellectual property (IP), including team and league logos.

Enrico Drago, Senior Vice President at IGT Play Digital commented that the NBA Deal would bring official league data to IGT’s PlaySports customers.

Drago went on to say that it has proved IGT’s determination to deliver an unequaled sports wagering solution to the US market and that the agreement bolsters the ‘all-in-one’ proposition that his firm offers.

He also said that having access to league marks and logos, in addition to official, real-time NBA data feeds, gives IGT’s customers a great opportunity given the increased popularity of in-play, prop and parlay bets.

Drago added that having access to NBA’s IP empowers his company to align with Play-Sports customers and create ‘highly compelling betting menus for sports fans’ across the US.

Scott Kaufman-Ross, Head of Fantasy and Gaming at NBA, said that the deal would allow regional operators to create the ‘best NBA gaming experience’.

Kaufman-Ross emphasized that the NBA deal would give the platform provider a new ability to offer genuine, out of the box appeal to its US customers and believes this new string to IGT’s bow will prove a highly attractive sports wagering solution to ‘a diverse set of operators’ across the country.

Earlier this month a lucky gambler managed to hit the Jackpot on the Arabian Nights slot game that resulted in a massive win of €1,356,163.

The player’s win is the 48th for the NetEnt video slot and the amount won is slightly below the average jackpot win of €1,501.469 which is won approximately every 11 weeks.  Thirty-six weeks prior to this latest win, a lucky punter hit the jackpot and won a prize of €686,302.  This win was followed less than an hour later by another win of just €87,330.

Arabian Nights is a 5-reel, 10-line progressive slots jackpot that players could win at online casinos that offer games from Net Entertainment.  The value of the jackpot differs between casinos and players can endeavor to find the casino with the biggest current jackpot.

In order to win the jackpot it is necessary for players to spin the Bet Max (1 coin on all the 10 lines).

The Wild symbol is the Arabic man and substitutes for all other symbols with the exception of the Scatter.

Hitting 5 Arabic man symbols awards players the Jackpot (or 10,000 coins).  Players who hit any combination of the Arabic man (2, 3 or 4) will see them win cash as well: 10, 200 or 2500 coins respectively.  Any wins including this Wild symbol are doubled.

The Scatter symbol is Aladdin’s magic lamp and 15 Free Spins are awarded for getting 3 or more of these symbols.  Any more Free Spins won during a player’s Free Spin rounds are automatically added to a player’s running free spins total.  All wins awarded during the Free Spin rounds are tripled, with the exception of the progressive jackpot wins.

Microgaming, an Isle of Man based online gaming software supplier, will be adopting the proposed new German gambling regulations that are due to come into effect in July of next year.

The Casino Software Developer pledged to ensure that their operators will utilize their portfolio of games in the country and has committed to providing its customers with a solution designed to prepare them for the new regime.

It is Germany’s intention to provide an online slots licensing regime for commercial operators that includes a number of new methods adapted to promote social responsibility and minimize gambling-related harm.  Microgaming fully supports Germany’s approach.

Included in the new directives is an interval of five-seconds between reel spins, monthly deposit caps and a maximum stake limit.  All online gaming products must also be presented in the German language.

Germany’s new rules are scheduled to officially come into effect in July 202l, after which the applicable licenses can be issued.  Meanwhile, there will be a policy of transitional tolerance that will see operators engaging with the German market if they adopt the new regulatory measures.  Those ignoring the new regulations may be excluded from the future official licensing procedure.

Microgaming will launch a solution by 15th October that follows the German Toleration Regime that will give clients a chance to be technically ready to enter the German market ‘on-the-spot’.

Leon Thomas, Commercial Director at Microgaming, commented that as a socially responsible business, Microgaming broadly supports the regulatory changes in Germany, where they will be providing their customers with a solution that includes some of their most popular and successful titles – long before the new gambling laws coming into force next year.
