Britain’s Ascot Racecourse has announced that it has entered into two new international media rights deals with ‘At The Races’ (ATR) and multi-channel content supplier ‘Sports Information Services’ (SIS).
In terms of the agreements, both companies will be granted the exclusive right to show live racing coverage from the racecourse, for betting purposes as well as into Licensed Betting Offices (LBOs) within their respective territories.
Both deals, which will run from 1st March 2019 to December 2021, will cover Royal Ascot and all other fixtures held at the racecourse, with the exception of British Champions Day.
ATR’, whose UK-facing television channel was rebranded last year and is now called Sky Sports Racing, will take international pari-mutuel betting rights across the world, including the United Kingdom, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Macau.
Juliet Slot, the Chief Commercial Officer at Ascot Racecourse, commented that they have placed these two specialized international betting picture rights contracts with proven experts in their respective fields as part of their strategy to partner with entities that best suit each contract’s individual need.
Slot went on to say that it is fantastic to extend their relationship for delivery to international fixed odds markets with SIS, who they are already working with in the UK market as part of the retail betting distribution, in partnership with RMG and, for Tote markets, to start working again with ATR’s international team.
Matthew Imi, Chief Executive at ATR, said that they are delighted to be working so closely again with Ascot in distributing their racing to the many important Tote wagering operations around the world. He added that it is a responsibility they take very seriously as Ascot is a premium brand, which resonates globally.
