The Arena Football League has announced that it has entered into partnership deals with daily fantasy sports contest provider DraftKings and Vegas Stats and Information Network in an endeavor to improve fan engagement over the following two seasons.
The partnership should result in a more interactive experience being delivered to fans, who will have the opportunity to play daily fantasy sports games based on the league and enjoy more league broadcast, especially through online streaming.
Ron Jaworski, Executive Committee Chairman at the Arena Football League, commented on the deals by saying that the partnerships they have announced give fans an entire new range of ways to get in on the action of arena football.
The Arena League is currently home to four teams only, namely Baltimore Brigade, Washington Valor and Philadelphia Soul, which each joined last season and the Albany Empire, which is new to the league this year, despite the fact that it has been in operation for 31 seasons and once counted 19 teams in its membership
In terms of the deal, DraftKings will become the Arena Football League’s exclusive daily fantasy partner, although fans and players will only see the results of this agreement when DraftKings launches an AFL fantasy game and begins to stream league games in its app in the 2019 season.
The deal with VSiN will see fans, punters and operators being dealt with more information and statistics about individual players, teams and matchups each week. The deal will also see VSiN produce pre-game shows and segments every week focused on the betting odds of AFL games.
