Basketball Australia, in conjunction with their eight state and territory basketball association partners, is thrilled to reveal that it has entered into an official data and integrity partnership with Genius Sports.
The partnership entered into between the parties will cover the Women’s National Basketball League, South East Australian Basketball League as well as the top-level league in each state in Australia.
The agreement will also see both parties working in unison in order to combat the dual threats of match-fixing and betting-related corruption and Australia’s professional basketball’s governing body will benefit through having Genius Sports providing its 24/7 bet monitoring system which is relied upon by a number of the world’s largest sports leagues and federations to monitor and evaluate real-time betting patterns from betting markets globally in order to detect any potentially suspicious activity.
The official data and integrity partnership will see Basketball Australia granted an unparalleled level of visibility and control over the supply and use of its official data.
By using an official feed it will also discourage “courtsiders” from collecting unofficial data within the stadium which they can then distribute without the sport having any visibility or control over the subsequent use.
Anthony Moore, CEO for Basketball Australia, revealed that they are thrilled to have formed this official agreement with Genius Sports.
Moore went on to say that this special partnership will not only enable Basketball Australia to control and centralize the data provided to the regulated betting industry, but will also enable them to safeguard the integrity of their competitions from any manipulation.
