888, one of the world’s leading online gaming entertainment and solutions providers that is currently powered by Stockholm-listed technology supplier Kambi, has announced that it has entered into an agreement in terms of which it will acquire certain assets of BetBright parent Dedsert and its affiliates for an amount of £15m.

The agreement signed by the parties will see 888s product and technology capabilities being strengthened to support the long-term development strategy for 888Sport.

888 revealed that the acquisition gives it a high-quality and scalable sportsbook platform as well as associated risk management, product and trading capabilities that will allow the company to take complete ownership over its technology and product development across Casino, Sport, Poker and Bingo.

Itai Pazner, the Chief Executive Officer at 888, commented that this acquisition of a high-quality and scalable sportsbook is an exciting milestone for 888.  He added that it gives the group the missing piece in their proprietary product and technology portfolio and will enable 888 to own proprietary, end-to-end solutions across the four major online gaming verticals.

Pazner went on to say that with 888Sport becoming an increasingly established and popular worldwide sports betting destination, they believe it is the right time to take ownership of their full sports betting proposition.  He also said that they are confident that this acquisition will increase the group’s long-term prospects and differentiation in the growing global sports betting market.

Pazner added that their new colleagues joining from BetBright will significantly strengthen 888’s sports betting expertise and industry know-how, and they are delighted to welcome them into the group.
