DraftKings intends opening a new office in Las Vegas as it endeavors to wrap up its switch from Daily Fantasy Sport giant to US gambling leader.
The company recently became the first operator to launch a mobile sportsbook in New Jersey and has now announced a range of new actions and specific plans to open a link of new offices across the globe in order to support its growth plans.
DraftKings’ new office in San Francisco, California, has already opened and will house a number of the firm’s Growth Marketing Executives and their team, while it is also planning to open new headquarters in Boston that is scheduled to open early in 2019. It is expected that the company’s workforce at the Massachusetts site will grow by 75% over the next year.
Matt Kalish, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer at DraftKings, commented that presence in these international hubs of technology and gaming, respectively, allows them access to a tremendous talent pool and strengthens their position as leaders in this dynamic industry.
Meanwhile, DraftKings has appointed three executives to its Senior Management team in a further move to boost expansion.
Jamie Shea will join DraftKings as Head of Digital Sportsbook Operations while Frank Kunovic will take the role of Director of Retail Sportsbook Operations and Sean Hurley has been named Head of Commercial Growth.
The company, until recently, kept away from sports wagering and ‘games of chance’ as numerous states endeavored to ban daily fantasy sports contests. However, once the Supreme Court decided to overrule PASPA in May of this year, DraftKings has been extending its reach.
