Leading online bookmaker, Betway, have revealed that they have entered into a sponsorship deal with eSports team Invictus Gaming for the forthcoming Dota 2 professional season, including The International 2018 which is due to be held this month.
The deal signed by the parties marks Betway’s first venture into Dota 2 eSports after previously announcing sponsorship of the upcoming CS:GO Major taking place in September.
In terms of the deal, Betway will have exclusive access to the Invictus Gaming team for content creation and Invictus Gaming will also display the Betway logo on their Dota 2 jerseys throughout the period of the sponsorship.
Invictus Gaming is a highly regarded name in the eSport sector and as winners of The International in 2012, the company have attracted a large number of high profile players, including 430, YYF and BurNIng.
Betway announced five new eSports sponsorships earlier this year which include CS:GO Pro League, CS:GO Major, and the bookmaker is also sponsoring the Brazilian eSports brand MIBR.
Antony Werkman, the Chief Executive Officer at Betway, commented on the deal by saying that they are delighted to seal this sponsorship deal with Invictus Gaming, which marks their entry into the Dota 2 market.
Werkman went on to say that a strong brand with a rich history in eSports, Invictus Gaming are one of the few teams to win The International, and they are extremely proud to bring them into the Betway family. He also said that after seeing incredible success in CS:GO, they cannot wait to replicate their market leading content in Doto 2 through this landmark partnership.
