Ladbrokes, a world leader in online betting and gaming, has revealed that it has entered into a deal in terms of which it will remain as title sponsor of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL).
The deal will see Ladbrokes retaining sponsorship rights to Scotland’s four professional divisions, extending an agreement that commenced in 2015 and building on an initial one-year renewal agreed in May of last year.
The new deal is said to be worth up to £5 million and includes the promotion of responsible gambling being intensified with Ladbrokes saying that it plans to promote the message within the game and across fan base together with the SPFL.
Jim Mullen, Chief Executive of Ladbrokes Coral Group, commented that they knew when they started the sponsorship that they were associating with a sport that is followed with passion and dedication and it has proved to be an excellent partnership.
Mullen went on to say that football beats at the heart of Scottish life and that the cafes and canteens echo to the football conversation every week and they are delighted to be part of that conversation. He added that in being at the heart of the discussion they also want to make sure that it reflects that gambling should be fun, not a problem, and that is why their continued sponsorship will enable them to promote responsible gambling and work with clubs to ensure that the integrity of the sport is upheld.
Mullen also said that they take their role as a sponsor seriously and take their role to help customers keep gambling fun just as seriously.
