French operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) and Greek operator Hellas Horse Races SAS have announced that they have launched a partnership that will see common pool betting on French races being made available to Greek punters.

The partnership will see Greek bettors having access to betting on about 10,000 races offered by PMU each year and measure their sagacity over an enlarged panel of 10 different bets as well as expanded options in terms of bet types.  Betting on French racing was only available in a separate pool network of about 300 points of sale prior to this deal.

Alain Bernard Resplandy, the Managing Director of PMU, commented on the launch by saying that this partnership is part of PMU’s international development strategy that was initiated a number of years ago and which is experiencing strong growth.  Resplandy also said that this joint betting partnership guarantees the best conditions for Greek bettors who have always shown a real enthusiasm for horse racing.  He went on to say that the figures recorded in the past highlight this and point to results that will contribute both to the financing of the horse industry in France and to the revival of the Greek sector.

As from February of next year, Greek punters will be able to resume betting on Quinte+ which used to be available in Greece a few years back.  A number of other bets are also about to enrich an offering that until now included only separate pool betting on French races, via a network of 300 Greek sales points.
